In retaliation for the First Troll War, Zhulgar Trolls viciously attacked the City of Zhuldane, but were ultimately unsuccessful in reclaiming it. After a few years of skirmishing along the border of Verdane Forest and Ruk'thar, a ceasefire was called for by both sides due to mounting losses, but no peace agreement was ever reached. A border was established, guarded heavily on both sides, and a tense standoff has been in place ever since. Technically, the Second Troll War never ended.
Aftermath
It eventually comes to light that it was a number of treasonous Zhulgar Trolls that spread the rumor that sparked the First Troll War as an attempt to weaken the inner Zhulgar Trolls ruling party (TODO: needs a name) in a failed attempt to overthrow the government. Neither side knew of this at the time, and Zhulgar Trolls genuinely had no idea why they were attacked in the first place.
